Quarantine Fumigation
In the modern economy, firms frequently use shipments or aircraft to move goods and commodities across borders. Pests have numerous opportunities to infest the cargo and enter the country during the import or export of commodities. To prevent these pests from dispersing and spreading disease, quarantine fumigation is carried out.
Depending on the cargo exported and the destinations, quarantine fumigation is necessary. In Sri Lanka, 3 types of quarantine fumigation are typically performed:
- Stack Fumigation
- Container Fumigation
- Vessel Fumigation
